First performed by colleagues on Creative Dialogue XIV in July 2023 at the Musiikkitalo, Helsinki.
Incantation was composed over the course of 5 days as part of the Creative Dialogue course run by Anssi Karttunen and Julian Anderson; it is dedicated to the memory of Kaija Saariaho, borrowing a scordatura from her piece Spins and Spells for solo cello.
